![]() ![]() Yes I know I could have done the CCV PVC delete but I want to keep is as much stock as possible. Yes Im doing a full oil change as soon as Im sure there are no more water leaks. Once it finally blew out you could hear the air had a clear pathway from the crank vent line. My crank case vent line that Y's off the dip stick was also a solid block and took a bit of digging, de greaser (B-12) and air to get it clear. Most of my emissions hoses were pretty gunked up and a few solid. The 1/2 crank vent hose the connects to the bottom of the water/oil separator is about 4in short and the hose that connects to the valve cover is about 1/2 to long and wont flex like the OEM so I had to use the old one. One of the hard lines has a bend in it just enough to make it impossible to bolt the electrical box onto the manifold. I ordered the Crankcase Vent Valve Breather Hoses and oil separator kit from Amazon as well as the heater hard lines. The video above shows you where the coolant reservoir in your X3 is. Make sure to check your engine when it is cold for an accurate reading. ![]() Engine coolant / antifreeze circulates through your engine to keep it cool in the summer but wont freeze in the winter. I had to order a new hose.Īnother lesson learned, spend the extra $$ to get OEM parts. Adding engine coolant (also known as antifreeze) to your 2011 BMW X3 is pretty easy. It seems the retaining clip for the O-ring must have gotten stuck to the old thermostat housing and already went out with the trash earthier this week. I would be done if it were not for my lower radiator hose having a huge leak where it connects to the thermostat. Each time it started to down pour 2 minutes after I closed the hood. Thank you to God for holding off the rain yesterday and today both times until I was done working on the BMW even though we had high wind and rain warnings. Replace the bleeder screw (not tight.just enough)Ģ) pour coolant into the expansion tank until the bobber is at the max level (engine is cold of course)ģ) turn the ignition to position (2) and set your climate control to low fan and max temp (this will start the aux pump)Ĥ) after a few minutes, I heard gurgling in the expansion and the bobber droppedĥ) pour more coolant into expansion tank until the bobber is at max level againĦ) replace and tighten the expansion tank capħ) start the car and take her for a spin to get to operating temp I did the following steps when I refilled coolant into the tank:ġ) pour coolant through the bleeder screw hole until it tops off. Thought "did i have too much coolant?" So try this.īe sure you're bleeding the system correctly. Sorry.i just read your complete posting and apparently what i responded with isn't helpful.Ĭan you see coolant at the top of your expansion tank? When i refilled mine.the bobber was at max level and I didn't see coolant at the top. ![]()
